Role Overview
Warwick College Group is seeking a dedicated and motivated Job Coach to support interns based at Amazon in Rugby. This is a fully on-site role focused on helping young people develop employability skills, gain confidence in the workplace, and progress towards sustainable paid employment.
The successful candidate will provide structured coaching both in the workplace and at college, supporting interns with day-to-day tasks, employability training, laptops-for-programming and personal development.
Safeguarding & Compliance
This position involves working with young people in a regulated activity environment. Appointment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, satisfactory references, occupational health clearance, and verification of qualifications.
It is a criminal offence to apply for this role if you are barred from working with children or young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deliver tailored job coaching and employment plans
- Teach and assess employability and work-readiness qualifications
- Support interns during workplace placements and college-based learning
- Guide students in developing practical job skills and workplace confidence
- Identify and remove barriers to learning and employment
- Collaborate with Amazon teams to design meaningful work placements
- Develop task-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide pastoral and emotional support to learners with SEND
- Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and career ownership
- Assist interns with job applications, CVs, and interview preparation
- Support applications for funding such as Access to Work (DWP)
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and produce reports
- Participate in Job Coach and Teaching Essentials training
During peak assessment periods, you may also be required to support as an exam invigilator. Full training will be provided.
Reporting Structure
The post holder will report directly to the Head of School – Supported Learning.

Essential Criteria
- GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Willingness to undertake Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI)
- Strong IT skills including email, internet, and MS Office
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a commercial or workplace environment
- Experience supporting, teaching, or mentoring young people
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
